Karachi, Feb 1: Mr Daniel Ritz, Chief Executive Officer PTCL visited DHA City Karachi (DCK) and held a meeting with Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali and DCK team to discuss the modalities/execution strategy for initiating integrated Communication Technology (ICT) works at DCK to make it the first smart City of Pakistan. Administrator said that new ICT networks and technologies will make DHA City more sustainable by providing real-time information to the residents and stake holders. He said that the state-of-the-art ICT technology will hugely add to the efficacy and stature of DCK as a city of international stature.
CEO PTCL said that at DCK, an infrastructure, capable of meeting higher bandwidth requirements of future smart city is being laid. He added that the roadmap for ICT was based on Optical Fiber with higher availability of wireless applications like 3G and LTE. He said that ICT infrastructure could also be used for management of Smart City like surveillance, disaster management and e-governance etc.
Administrator said that DCK had all the potential to provide modern amenities to its residents and was poised to become a Smart City with a Smart Future.
